The People

Do you remember the joy of making your first friend as a kid and still being able to call that person today? At RBD Creative we sure do! We also know how important it is to keep making new friends. For that reason your RBD Creative team is comprised of designers and account people who have worked together for years as well as a few newbies to spice up the mix.

At RBD Creative our team specializes in capturing audiences and building strong brands.

At its core, it’s pretty simple; if you don’t know what your audience wants, how will you convince them to buy your service or product? Actually delving into your audience and building a winning strategy is a lot more complex. Our clients tell us we deliver impeccable strategy development, audience-grabbing and relevant creative for advertising and sales tools, finished off with flawless execution. It’s all about our incredible team!

Can we help you? Probably. Reach out to us to get started.

Dorothy Twinney

After spending a significant portion of her career in legacy brands such as Kelly Services, Siemens and Y&R, Dorothy realized it was the smaller company environment that suited her best. She and her very right-brain-brain collaborated with Stan Dickson, an oh-so-left-brainiac, to form RBD Creative to bring exceptional creative design, robust strategies and strong return on investment to Southeast Michigan companies. She built a team of the best creative talent available and opened the doors to their carriage house (affectionately known as The Troc).

When not bringing great design and strategy to her clients, you will find Dorothy watching her two boys’ soccer, football and lacrosse games, attending band concerts, whipping up a little something-something in the kitchen or watching the latest Mad Men episode … again.

Brian Townsend

When it comes to Creative, there’s creative and then there’s CREATIVE. We know our Brian falls into the latter category and look forward to watching his creativity unfold, whether it’s over a web, logo, brochure or social media project. In addition to delivering creative that wows, Brian manages the amazing design talent that makes RBD Creative so special while making sure client needs (even some they might not realize they have) are being met.

A graduate of Wayne State’s Fine Arts program, you will find Brian flexing his creative artistry in most every aspect of his life. Whether he is performing in or directing a play for the Players Guild of Dearborn, painting his house or hanging out with friends, Brian lives his art.

Liza (pronounced “Leesa”) Mondro

We think our Liza M. is pretty special. And we’re not the only ones! Our clients are bowled over by her as well. There is no one in Southeast Michigan that takes better care of clients than Liza. Whether it’s spec’ing out a project so that it is just right, coordinating the design team and outside expertise to deliver a solution that is way more than the client ever realized they wanted, or cracking the proverbial whip to keep everyone on time and within budget, Liza somehow manages it all, and with her trademark smile to boot!

Mike Ouellette

Mike is RBD’s resident wizard for all things web-based. His bag of tricks includes designing user-focused websites (specializing in custom WordPress sites), email campaigns, technical assistance/training on new or existing websites, photography, and occasional wordsmithery. He is a self-professed rabid technophile with a great sense of humor. Mike loves to help our clients reach their goals in creating websites that drive their bottom lines while bringing more attention to their brands or projects, and empowering them to make decisions and develop strategies with more confidence. We’re thrilled he’s here to help!

When not tapping away at the keyboard, you can find Mike behind the mic as a guitarist and vocalist in the Japanese rock band October Babies, playing shows in the Ann Arbor/Detroit area, writing/recording with OB, snapping photos, camping, or going out on the town to support Metro Detroit’s great local music scene.

Kristine Wise

Watch out! Kristine is known for her extraordinary ability to roar without barely making a sound. Creatively, that is! A tiger in the design realm, Kristine has leveraged her print design skills into web design seamlessly. What makes Kristine so special? We think it’s her uncanny ability to ask just the right questions of each project to make sure the final deliverable is even more than the client expected.

When not roaring and purring over her Apple to bring us all great design, you will find Kristine tending her garden, pursuing her love of Creative Writing, attending class (she has gone back for more knowledge) or quietly hanging out with her husband of twenty years Paul and their cat Sully.

Noelle Scharer

We were lucky to meet Noelle when she was just starting out seven years ago—her creative energy and enthusiasm infuses every new project that comes her way. Now as an experienced event planner, she has mad skills for turning visual ideas into reality. Blending her keen eye for fresh trends, three-dimensional design and savvy intuition, Noelle has a magical touch for bringing out the best for whatever our clients need: trade show displays, events, retreats and parties.

When not creating spectacular sights to remember, Noelle loves to hang out with her daughter Delyla and husband Nick, sew and create baby room artwork for her Etsy shop, or take a spin around the ice as a figure skater and ice dancer trying out her new moves doing the Foxtrot, European Waltz and Tango!

Kara Marsee

If you take one really big cup of creative and add to it an overflowing cup of web ingenue and another big cup of absolute thought and care for the project and the client, you then have Kara. Kara has the extraordinary ability to recognize the true potential of a client through their website presence and then bring it to life. Not one to mince words or cut corners, Kara makes sure that the web project we deliver is even more than the client originally expected.

When not designing spectacular websites, Kara can be found running after her two boys and enjoying her husband Todd at home in Ann Arbor. Our very own Bryan Twinney (with a little help from his mum) was one of their very first babysitters and can still tell you fun stories!

Monique Mandley

The glue that holds us together. The peanut butter to our jelly. The calendar to our chaos. The reason we make it where we need to be when we need to be there. Monique is a whirlwind of activity and an expert on a little bit of absolutely everything. Whether you need Social Media statistics, a referral for just the right place to buy shoes for your cousin’s Miami wedding or a last minute cross country delivery of a tradeshow booth, Monique is our gal! And we sure are grateful!

She is no stranger to creativity, which is no doubt why she fits in so well with us all. An avid writer, you can follow her Mo’ Livin’ Large blog here. You won’t find better lemon raspberry squares or other treats in Metro Detroit, so we are all grateful when she pulls goodies out of the oven for us!

Liza (pronounced “Leezah”) Kue

One of our new friends, Liza K. brings great experience, a real willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done well and her own wonderful brand of fun to our little carriage house. Liza is helping Dorothy manage client requests and needs, while at the same time honing her design skills under our Brian’s attentive watch. She is an extraordinary researcher and trust us, you want Liza at the brainstorming table! We can’t wait to see what happens next!

Stan Dickson

Without Stan, we would probably forget that what we do every day is considered work. When Stan and Dorothy set out to form a Creative House that could meet the needs of a diverse group of businesses from myriad industries, they both knew they brought their own talents to the table. Stan is uncanny with numbers and with creative business strategies. Our clients find that his perspective is often far beyond where they themselves have seen their business, and yes, he helps them get there.

When not charting the course for his businesses and our clients from his vantage point on the second floor of Detroit’s Oldest Building (the Historic Charles C. Trowbridge House), you will find Stan enjoying his wife Heather and six grown children, spearheading an event or activity for the Detroit Chapter of World Presidents Organization or relaxing with his weekly copies of Barron’s, the New York Times (Sunday edition) and other publications.
